  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin sauce 1 tablespoon soy sauce

For the Dipping Sauce:

  • Hoisin Sauce 6 tablesoons
  • Soy sauce 3 tablespoons
  • Sweet chili sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Orange marmalade or any fruit jam - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves finely chopped
  • Roasted peanuts coarsely chopped
  • White sesame seeds – roasted 2 tablespoons.

For the wrap

  • Lettuce round or boat wraps
  • Rice or mung noodles – fried or boiled Optional
  • Kichia – fried optional
  • Cilantro
  • Mint
  • Roasted coarsely chopped peanuts
  • Roasted white sesame seeds.

Instructions

  • Cut the paneer block into small pieces of 1 cm.
  • Fry them in a pan in a tsp of oil. When the outside is light/medium brown, take them and put aside. In the pan put 1 tsp of oil. Then put chopped garlic, chopped onions and half of the chives. Other half is for putting on top for garnishing. When the onions are fried for 5-6 minutes, add the capsicum, carrot and let them cook together for few more minutes. Then add cilantro and the fried paneer and Add hoisin sauce, soy sauce to this and mix together.
  • The sauce: In a pan put 2 tablespoons of oil and put the Hoisin sauce and let it cook for 1-2 minutes stirring constantly. Then add the soy sauce and the sweet chili sauce. Then add the orange marmalade/any fruit jam and cook together for another minute. Then add half cup of water and let it boil and reduce in volume. Takes few minutes. Let it cool down. You can add the sesame and peanuts to this to simplify or keep them separate for people to add at parties.

Making the wraps:

  • Optional garnishings: I have tried putting a layer of Kichia (fried rice wafers) or fried soft noodles or boiled thin vermicelli noodles to the wrap. It is optional and depends on your taste.
  • Take a lettuce leaf, put noodles or wafer or fried noodles, a mint leaf, cilantro and then the paneer filling. Top with the sauce, peanuts and sesame seeds and serve. You can use round lettuce leaves or boat lettuce leaves (Available in stores in packets as boat lettuce)

Notes

Tips:
You can add the peanuts and sesame to the sauce to make it simple or put them separately for your guests to add if they want it.
Some people may avoid due to nuts allergy.
