Tomatoes – cherry tomatoes cut in half or tomatoes cut to small pieces
Salt to taste
Instructions
Peel and grate the green papaya in to long pieces or julienne the green papaya.
In a mortal pestle, crush very coarsely the garlic, green chilies, and then green beans. Green beans to split them. Add tomatoes and very gently pound just to get them mixed. Then add tamarind juice.
Next in a mixing bowl put the julienned papaya, add the thyme then the mixture from the mortar/pestle. I added here the cut picked onions that I bought in a store. These are a little sweet Vidalia red onion. Normally papaya salad recipes don’t show this, but I find it adds a lot to the taste.
Then add the lime juice and the peanuts.
The salad is ready!
